This story is being constantly updated.  Even though the members of the Squadron are fading away I hope that the history and memory of their endeavors will continue.

I welcome any corrections, stories, anecdotes or information about the Squadron and its members, particularly their present whereabouts.
I am keen to identify more of the members of the Squadron in the photograph on the North Africa page.

In compiling this history I am indebted and grateful to the following, the late Bill Grantham for inspiring me to begin the project

Charlie Mason for the use of his interviews with veterans and some of the photographs. Without these interviews this account would be less than complete and a record of their experiences is now maintained for the future

George Reid, Sue Lee, Aubrey Woods the staff at the Public Record Office, the memoirs and accounts of the following, the late Lt Colonel AE. Perkins, Colonel George Harris, Major H. Faulkner-Brown MC and K.C Evans, J. Smith, Don Stevens, Ray Skidmore, Charlie Nealon, Ken Coley, Joe Johanson, the prose and memoirs of Phil Hyatt and Wally Martin
Jack Standen, Eric McCoy, Stan Holden, Cyril Brown, Arthur Ayers, Gordon Stone, 'Toby' Thomas, Bill McKenna, Alan Aldcroft, Eric Richards

Andy Baker for searching his database of Airborne Personnel, helping with the Nominal Roll and Roll of Honour, also Sgt Bob Hilton for corrections to the Nominal Roll and use of correspondence with veterans

The Hartenstein Museum Arnhem

Mark Hickman for the use of his graphics which have saved me many hours of work and all the many others who have helped in some way to make this story possible.
